In the past, only quartz sand was used as the raw material for artificial turf filling to stabilize the lawn. However, with the further development of artificial turf technology, the specific method of filling only quartz sand as auxiliary material in the past has been further dissipated. At this stage, the most common method of adding auxiliary materials in the world is mixed quartz sand and pvc particles. The advantage of adding quartz sand is that it can stabilize the bottom of the lawn, and adding pvc particles can reduce the joint damage caused by fitness sports characteristics.

The filling proportion of artificial turf is different in different places. For fitness sports with high impact strength, the proportion of quartz sand and pvc particles can be 40% quartz sand+60% pvc particles, which can improve the seismic characteristics of the site and reduce the joint damage of athletes. The proportion of fitness sports with less impact can be adjusted accordingly. Only if the site remains flat, the court can even be directly filled with quartz sand.

From the perspective of chemical composition analysis, the materials of artificial turf are mainly PE and PP, but also PVC and methacrylate. The leaves have the health of imitating natural plant grass, and need silicone resin.

1、 PE and PP as main materials

1. The artificial turf made of PE has a more flexible feel, appearance and fitness characteristics closer to natural plant grass, and is widely recognized by users. It is the most widely used raw material for artificial turf drilling in the professional market at this stage.

2. The artificial turf grass made of PP is relatively hard, and can be used in fields, playgrounds, roads or design decoration and other application scenarios, but its abrasion resistance is slightly worse than that of PVC.

3. The artificial turf made of nylon is the original raw material of artificial turf, which refers to the first generation of artificial turf. The grass is flexible and comfortable.
